Position: Senior Design Engineer

Department: Design

Location :Jaigad, Ratnagiri-MH

ORGANISATION RELATIONSHIPS

Position reports to Managers

Primary Position

Objective The primary objective of the - Design is to oversee the design activities of a given project within the boat manufacturing company, ensuring timely execution of the project. While coordinating with all the external and internal stakeholders.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities · Lead a Design project with a team of draftsman. · Coordinate with the external designers if any. · Coordinate with the external certification agency(s) · Provide manufacturing, engineering departments with the necessary design inputs, data and production drawings. · Manage design projects, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, to ensure on-time and within-budget project delivery. · Conduct regular project reviews and provide status updates to senior management. · Work closely with procurement team to help them liase with external vendors and suppliers in sourcing materials and components, ensuring they align with design specifications and quality standards. · Work with QC to ensure the production is as per the approved design. · Check all designs comply with relevant industry regulations and safety standards or the nominated inspection agency standards. · Provide necessary design support to marketing team with sales drawings etc.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

Skills

· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Naval Architecture / mech engineering · Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, Solidworks, Maxsurf and similar tools. · In-depth knowledge of boat stability calculations, manufacturing processes, materials, and construction techniques, classification requirements. · Ability to balance creativity with practical manufacturing considerations. · Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
