Position :- Maintenance Call Engineer (Elevator Service)

Department: Service & Maintenance

Reports To: Service Supervisor / Service Manager

Location: Kokan Region

Position Overview

The Maintenance Call Engineer is responsible for attending breakdown calls, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring elevators operate safely and efficiently. The role requires strong technical knowledge, customer service skills, and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Breakdown & Emergency Calls

• Respond promptly to elevator breakdown calls to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults using proper tools and testing equipment.
• Restore elevator operation safely and efficiently.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers when required.

2. Preventive Maintenance

• Conduct routine maintenance according to the company's PM schedule.
• Inspect and service elevator components such as motors, controllers, doors, cables, and safety devices.
• Record maintenance activities and report worn-out or defective parts.

3. Troubleshooting & Repairs

• Troubleshoot control systems (electromechanical, microprocessor-based, or PLC).
• Perform repair work, part replacements, and adjustments to ensure elevator reliability.
• Ensure all repairs comply with manufacturer and safety standards.

4. Safety & Compliance

• Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure elevators comply with local codes and standards.
• Report hazards, near misses, or unsafe conditions immediately.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate service reports, breakdown logs, and checklists.
• Update service database with maintenance history and spare parts used.
• Communicate status updates to supervisors and customers.

6. Customer Service

• Interact professionally with building management and tenants.
• Provide clear explanations of issues and required repairs.
• Ensure high customer satisfaction through timely service.

Qualifications & Skills

Education

• Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related engineering field.
• Vocational training or certification in elevator maintenance preferred.

Experience

• 1–5 years of experience in elevator maintenance and troubleshooting (depending on level).
• Experience with major elevator brands (e.g., Otis, KONE, Schindler, Mitsubishi, ThyssenKrupp) is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of elevator mechanical systems and drive mechanisms.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and wiring schematics.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical control panels, VFDs, and safety circuits.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and service software.

Soft Skills

• Good communication and customer handling skills.
• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Strong sense of responsibility and safety.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work at heights, confined spaces, and machine rooms.
• Fit for lifting tools and performing manual repair tasks.
• On-call availability for emergency breakdowns (if applicable).

Additional Requirements

• Valid driver's license (optional but preferred).
• Willingness to work weekends or shifts as per service rotation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹25, ₹35,000.00 per month
