Position Overview
The
National Sales Manager / GM – Sales
will be responsible for driving national-level sales and distribution for the apparel business through
Multi-Brand Outlets (MBOs)
and other trade channels. This role demands strategic leadership, strong channel expansion capabilities, and deep industry experience to achieve top-line growth and profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute the
annual business plan
for MBO sales across regions. - Formulate and implement effective
sales, marketing, and distribution strategies
to achieve revenue and margin goals. - Identify new
market opportunities
and expansion avenues for brand visibility and reach.
2. Sales Operations & Channel Management
- Lead, manage, and expand the
national distribution network
, including MBOs, distributors, agents, and key accounts. - Ensure consistent
secondary and tertiary sales growth
through regular monitoring and review mechanisms. - Drive
regional team performance
and ensure sales KPIs and market share objectives are achieved. - Implement efficient
sales forecasting, pricing, and inventory management systems.
3. Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop the
national sales team
, including Zonal / Regional Sales Managers, KAMs, and Merchandisers. - Foster a performance-driven culture focused on accountability, ownership, and results.
4. Trade Marketing & Brand Promotion
- Partner with marketing teams to execute
trade promotions, visual merchandising, and in-store activation programs. - Manage participation in
trade shows, dealer meets, and seasonal launch events. - Ensure optimal brand visibility and merchandising standards across MBO network.
5. Relationship Management
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with key retailers, distributors, and trade partners.
- Negotiate trade terms, margins, and schemes to ensure mutual profitability.
6. Business Analytics & Reporting
- Analyze
sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities
to guide strategic decisions. - Present periodic sales reports, forecasts, and insights to management.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Education:
Graduate in Commerce / Business; MBA / PGDM in Marketing (preferred). - Experience:
years in
Apparel / Kids Wear/ Fashion Retail
industry with proven track record in managing
MBO business at a national level. - Strong exposure in
channel sales, dealer acquisition, and trade marketing. - Demonstrated success in launching, scaling, and managing brands in competitive markets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel extensively across India.
- Execution of
trade marketing and brand visibility programs.
