We are seeking a talented and creative
Telugu translator
to collaborate on an exciting book project. This is a unique opportunity to join a creative team and bring a heartwarming and hilarious
romantic comedy novel
to a new audience.

About the Role

This is a collaborative, project-based position focused on translating a full-length rom-com from English to Telugu. This isn't just a word-for-word translation; it requires a deep understanding of humor and emotion to capture the wit, banter, and charm of the original story. The ideal candidate will be able to ensure the Telugu version is as engaging and funny as the English one. We will work together closely over a
two-month period
to perfect the manuscript.

Responsibilities

  • Work in close collaboration with the author to translate the entire manuscript from English to Telugu.
  • Maintain the original voice and tone, capturing the comedic timing and emotional beats of the romance genre.
  • Meet agreed-upon deadlines for each phase of the translation process.
  • Communicate regularly with the author to discuss progress and resolve any translation challenges.

Benefits

  • Translator Credits:
    You will receive full credit as the official translator on the book's cover and within the book's credits.
  • Share in Royalties:
    You will receive a percentage of the book's sales revenue (royalties) once it is released to the market. This is a direct stake in the project's success.

Qualifications

  • Native-level fluency in Telugu and professional-level proficiency in English.
  • Proven experience in translating literary works, with a portfolio or samples of previous work.
  • A strong understanding of the romantic comedy genre is a plus.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to commit to a two-month collaboration period.
