Role Description

This is a contract-based remote role for a Senior Freelance Penetration Tester. The role involves identifying vulnerabilities in client systems, conducting thorough security assessments, and testing the resilience of applications, networks, and systems. You will design and execute penetration tests, analyze security risks, and provide actionable recommendations for remediation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve security measures and compliance will be an integral part of your responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in penetration testing methodologies and tools such as Metasploit, Burp Suite, and Kali Linux
  • Strong understanding of application, network, and IoT security and the ability to perform vulnerability assessments
  • Hands-on experience with ethical hacking, intrusion detection, and exploit development
  • Familiarity with compliance standards including ISO 27001, GDPR, and NIST
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms and secure DevOps practices (e.g., AWS, Azure, CI/CD pipelines)
  • Effective communication skills to document findings and present technical issues and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, or CISSP are highly beneficial
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
