Role of Sales & Marketing Head
The Sales & Marketing Head is responsible for driving business growth through strategic planning and execution of all sales and marketing initiatives. This includes managing revenue targets, expanding market presence, building brand value, and ensuring effective customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Leadership
Develop and implement integrated sales and marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.
Define yearly/quarterly business goals, revenue targets, and action plans.
Sales Management
Set and monitor sales targets across regions, channels, and teams.
- Establish and maintain an efficient distribution network (retail, B2B, e-commerce).
- Ensure territory-wise performance tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
Drive channel development and new market expansion.
Marketing Management
Design and execute marketing campaigns (both ATL & BTL).
- Oversee brand building, product positioning, and communication strategies.
- Manage digital marketing, PR, and promotional activities.
Monitor marketing ROI and brand performance metrics.
Product & Portfolio Management
Work with product and R&D teams to launch new products and improve existing ones.
- Oversee product pricing, packaging, and market launch strategies.
Analyze consumer behavior and feedback to inform product decisions.
Team Management
Lead and develop a high-performing sales and marketing team.
- Set clear KPIs and performance metrics for team members.
Conduct regular training, coaching, and performance reviews.
Customer & Channel Relationship Management
Build strong relationships with distributors, retailers, key clients, and partners.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and after-sales service.
Design and implement channel loyalty programs and trade incentives.
Budgeting & Financial Oversight
Prepare and manage sales & marketing budgets.
- Ensure cost-effective operations and monitor campaign spends vs ROI.
Coordinate with finance for pricing, credit control, and revenue tracking.
Cross-functional Coordination
Collaborate with:
Supply Chain for demand planning and inventory.
- Finance for revenue projections and profit analysis.
- Operations/Production for capacity planning.
R&D/Product teams for innovation and improvement.
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure adherence to industry regulations, quality standards, and brand guidelines.
- Provide regular performance reports to top management.
- Monitor KPIs like sales growth, market share, brand recall, and customer acquisition.
