As the Banquet Manager for Merlis Coimbatore, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing banquets, conferences, weddings, and social events of varying scale and sophistication. You will ensure every event reflects the hotel's commitment to excellence through meticulous coordination, seamless service, and impeccable guest satisfaction.

Merlis Coimbatore is an elegant new luxury hotel set amidst 4 acres of serene landscapes, ideally located just 2 kilometers from Coimbatore International Airport. The hotel features 142 meticulously designed rooms, five premium dining outlets, and an array of world-class facilities, including two grand ballrooms, a spacious banquet lawn, and six well-equipped meeting rooms. Duties and Responsibilities
Event Planning and Coordination

  • Liaise with clients and the sales team to understand event requirements, budgets, and expectations.
  • Develop detailed event plans covering setup, service, staffing, and logistics.
  • Coordinate with culinary, engineering, and housekeeping teams to ensure flawless event delivery.

Operational Management

  • Oversee banquet operations from pre-event setup to post-event breakdown.
  • Ensure all banquet facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, functionality, and aesthetics.
  • Manage seating arrangements, décor coordination, and audiovisual requirements.

Guest Experience and Service Excellence

  • Supervise banquet service teams to ensure professional, courteous, and timely service during all events.
  • Interact with hosts and guests throughout events to ensure satisfaction and handle concerns promptly.
  • Develop and implement service standards tailored to event types—corporate, social, or wedding functions.

Team Leadership and Training

  • Recruit, train, and motivate banquet staff, ensuring they understand service protocols and hotel standards.
  • Assign roles and responsibilities during events and monitor team performance closely.
  • Foster a team culture of accountability, collaboration, and guest-first service.

Financial Oversight and Reporting

  • Manage banquet budgets, track revenue performance, and monitor expenses for profitability.
  • Work with the F&B Manager to develop pricing strategies and event packages.
  • Prepare post-event reports and recommend improvements for future operations.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

  • Stay current with industry trends in event planning, décor, and guest engagement.
  • Introduce creative ideas for themed events, new banquet concepts, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Ensure Merlis Coimbatore remains the preferred choice for premier events in the region.
