As the
Sales Manager
at Merlis Coimbatore, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth through proactive sales initiatives, key account management, and strategic market development. You will play a critical role in positioning the hotel as the preferred destination for business travelers, corporate events, and social gatherings. This position demands a dynamic professional with strong relationship-building skills, a deep understanding of the hospitality market, and the ability to convert opportunities into sustained business partnerships.

Merlis Coimbatore is an elegant new luxury hotel set amidst 4 acres of serene landscapes, ideally located just 2 kilometers from Coimbatore International Airport. The hotel features 142 meticulously designed rooms, five premium dining outlets, and an array of world-class facilities, including two grand ballrooms, a spacious banquet lawn, and six well-equipped meeting rooms. Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Market Development

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve room, banquet, and F&B revenue targets.
  • Identify new business opportunities across corporate, MICE, travel trade, and wedding segments.
  • Conduct regular market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and growth areas.
  • Build strong relationships with key accounts, travel agents, and event planners.

Client Relationship Management

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure satisfaction, loyalty, and repeat business.
  • Conduct site inspections, presentations, and negotiations to secure new bookings.
  • Work closely with the Banquet and F&B teams to customize event proposals and packages.
  • Handle client queries and feedback promptly to ensure exceptional service delivery.

Revenue and Performance Management

  • Monitor sales performance metrics, prepare forecasts, and report on market performance to management.
  • Collaborate with the Revenue Manager to optimize pricing, promotions, and yield strategies.
  • Track monthly sales performance and assist in budgeting and revenue planning.

Collaboration and Coordination

  • Partner with the Marketing and PR teams to develop promotional campaigns and partnerships.
  • Coordinate with the Reservations and Front Office teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
  • Represent the hotel at trade shows, exhibitions, and local networking events to enhance brand visibility.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Mentor and support the Sales Executives to achieve individual and departmental goals.
  • Conduct regular team briefings and training on sales techniques, brand standards, and customer engagement.
  • Promote a proactive, results-driven culture within the sales team.

Continuous Improvement

  • Gather client feedback and market intelligence to refine sales strategies.
  • Introduce creative sales approaches to increase market share and profitability.
  • Ensure Merlis Coimbatore maintains strong brand presence and competitive positioning in the region.
