Key Responsibilities
- **Oversee Tooling Operations**:Manage the day-to-day activities of the tool room, ensuring all processes run smoothly.
- **Manage Tooling & Equipment**:Supervise the design, maintenance, and repair of tools, dies, molds, and other manufacturing equipment.
- **Team Leadership**:Train, supervise, and coordinate a team of toolmakers, technicians, or other staff to meet production goals.
- **Quality Assurance**:Ensure that all tooling meets the required quality standards and specifications for the manufacturing process.
- **Safety Compliance**:Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- **Cross-Departmental Collaboration**:Work with engineering, production, purchasing, and quality control teams to support new product development and production needs.
- **Troubleshooting & Optimization**:Identify and resolve technical issues with tooling, and recommend improvements to optimize tooling performance and efficiency.
- **Inventory & Budget Management**:Oversee tool inventory, manage tooling budgets, and control costs for the department.

Essential Skills & Qualifications
- **Technical Knowledge**:Strong understanding of tooling, die making, machining, and manufacturing processes.
- **Leadership & Management**:Ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a technical team.
- **Problem-Solving**:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical issues.
- **Organizational Skills**:Excellent organizational skills to manage inventory, budgets, and work schedules.
- **Communication**:Ability to coordinate effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
- **Education & Experience**:Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent with significant hands-on experience in a relevant field like tool and die making.
