A Commis in South Indian cuisine is responsible for a variety of tasks in the kitchen, including:
- Food preparation: Assisting the chef in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes
- Quality and service: Exceeding guest expectations for food quality and service
- Safety and hygiene: Maintaining personal hygiene and ensuring the kitchen is clean and sanitary
- Stock management: Ensuring that stock is taken and rotated, and that food is stored properly to prevent spoilage
- Compliance: Following HACCP procedures and food health and safety regulations
- Organization: Completing duties in a timely manner and ensuring that all tasks are assigned and completed properly
- Communication: Cooperating with other staff and liaising with other departments
- Inventory: Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying supervisors of low or depleted supplies
- Cleaning: Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring that work stations are properly sanitized
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
