Nidhivan Restaurant is seeking an experienced and passionate South Indian Cook/ Assistant Manager/ Captains to join our culinary team. As a South Indian Cook, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of traditional South Indian dishes with a focus on authentic flavors and high-quality presentation. Your expertise will contribute to providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Food Preparation**: Prepare and cook a wide range of South Indian dishes, and various regional specialties.
- **Menu Development**: Collaborate with the head chef to create and refine the South Indian menu, introducing new and seasonal dishes while maintaining authenticity.
- **Ingredient Management**: Ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients by sourcing locally when possible and maintaining proper inventory levels.
- **Kitchen Operations**: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations. Manage food storage, labeling, and rotation to minimize waste.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work closely with other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service, ensuring timely and consistent delivery of dishes.
- **Quality Control**: Taste and adjust seasoning, portion sizes, and presentation of dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant's high standards.
- **Customer Interaction**: Occasionally interact with guests to receive feedback on dishes and make adjustments as needed to enhance customer satisfaction.
**Qualifications**:
- Proven experience as a South Indian Cook in a professional kitchen.
- Deep knowledge of South Indian cuisine, including regional variations.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality dishes.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Culinary certification or formal training in South Indian cuisine.
- Experience in menu planning and development.
- Knowledge of North Indian or other regional cuisines is a plus.
