- Monitor and review Operational KPIs to ensure strategic objectives are met at a BU level and at regional level
- Identify gaps or areas for development to improve performance. Work in a proactive way to identify the best solution to resolve problems, act to minimise delays, motivates and drives self and team to complete actions. Relentless focus on delivery performance in a safe manner.
- Provide ongoing feedback, mentoring, advice and coaching to direct reports, supporting skill development, continuous improvement, and increased competencies through an effective performance management framework.
- Through excellent communication, process improvements and safety culture, this role must be an ambassador for Health & Safety in the workplace and set clear expectations for the team. Also drives performance to achieve environmental goals of the company
- Analyse and respond to business information to design and implement operational improvements that remedy underperformance and respond to improvement opportunities.
- Identify opportunities for change and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Set objectives and manage performance of teams in discussion with Reporting Manager and monitor & report performance on an ongoing basis
- Drive business units to adhere to organisational operational policies and procedures and update all stakeholders on changes on a timely manner
- Ensure operational data accuracy across businesses. Provide timely reports on key performance and productivity trends within the region
- Establishing and maintaining proper SOP and RA for Operations
- Regularly assess and review infrastructure, equipment and resource capabilities and strategically plan remedy gaps so as to meet organizational goals on short
- and long-term basis
- Assist BU and region in annual & long term operational/ ROE budgeting process (including annual, 5 year plans etc) with well thought out work plans, clear forecasts & estimates in discussion with BUs and reporting Manager. Implement, monitor and review regional/BU wise budgets.
- Liaise with internal and external teams to identify and resolve all issues which could impact services and excel customer experience.
- Support and contribute in business development initiatives, new projects with operational expertise.
- Balancing organisational planning strategies with current and future operational requirements
- In conjunction with GM - (Operation ROE), develop and implement region specific Operational Plans.
- Carry out o ther duties, consistent with skills and experience, as directed by the reporting Manager
- Prepare site visit reports, action plans and reviews on a timely basis
**Educational, Technical Qualifications,
**Required Skills**:
- Graduate / Post-graduate/ bachelor’s in engineering/ Master Mariner with minimum of 10 years’ experience out of which 3 years at least as Shift operations Manager or Manager Operations function in a large Container terminal, sea port or large logistics conglomerate with extensive experience in handling heavy loads, equipment’s and complex work flows
- Should have handled a team of people in their work profile
- Should be up to date with norms, regulations, best practices in handling heavy loads, hazardous containers/ cargoes, safe working procedures, regulatory & statutory compliances
- Good interpersonal skills, oral/written communication skills, excellent team building capabilities, planning, negotiation, and decision-making skills including ability to prepare high level reports to Executives and external parties
- Be able to work independently in a multi-cultural environment with strong awareness of formal and informal organizational structures.
- Savviness in computers and developing/ new age technologies
- Proven track record of delivering operational plans in line with targets
- Should poses digital, positive and progressive mindset
- Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting businesses and organisation.

- Ability to travel extensively to various Business units spread across the SCO region and drive performance
- A strong working knowledge of employee and industrial relations frameworks and excellent skills in assessing risk at both organisational and individual levels

- Managerial knowledge on finance, procurement & contracting
