**Overview**:
As a Restaurant Steward, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the restaurant's kitchen and dining areas. Your primary responsibilities will include washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment, and ensuring that all areas of the restaurant are kept tidy and sanitary. Your work will contribute to the smooth operation of the restaurant and the overall guest experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Dishwashing and Sanitation**:

- Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, and other kitchen utensils using manual or mechanical methods.
- Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized according to food safety standards.
- Empty trash bins regularly and dispose of waste properly.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, including countertops, sinks, and food preparation areas.
- **Kitchen Maintenance**:

- Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling vegetables or portioning ingredients.
- Clean kitchen equipment, including stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers, following manufacturer instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage areas, such as refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage.
- **Dining Area Maintenance**:

- Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, and other furniture in the dining area.
- Vacuum or sweep floors, mop spills, and remove any debris to ensure a clean and safe environment for guests.
- Restock supplies, such as napkins, condiments, and utensils, as needed.
- **Assistance with Banquets and Events**:

- Assist in setting up and breaking down banquet or event spaces as needed.
- Support servers and kitchen staff during events by replenishing supplies, clearing tables, and assisting with cleanup.
- **Compliance and Safety**:

- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Report any maintenance or safety issues to management promptly.
- Follow established procedures for waste disposal and recycling.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks as needed.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

**Education**:

- A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required for this position.
