Proposal Writer Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Proposal Writer to join our team. This role involves researching and identifying funding opportunities, brainstorming with colleagues, and crafting compelling proposals to secure grant funding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the organization's vision, objectives, and financial needs.
  • Research and draft grant proposals based on the organization's requirements.
  • Submit proposals for review and approval.
  • Respond to internal and external queries regarding proposals.
  • Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities.
  • Contribute to effective communication of the organization's work, grants received, and outcomes achieved through social media.
  • Take ownership of submitted proposals and proactively work towards successfully converting at least one grant RFP per quarter.
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 2-3 years prior experience as a proposal writer with a grant-seeking organization and a history of submitting successful proposals.
  • Knowledge or interest in conservation, sustainability, and the natural world.
  • Ability to understand and convey the nuances of the organization's work.
  • Prior knowledge of fundraising sources for biodiversity and conservation is desirable.
  • Analytical thinker able to structure a proposal that conveys the program and its outcomes clearly and engagingly.
  • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work effectively in an international environment with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and time zones.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills in writing and verbally, with proficiency in MS Word, PPT, and Excel.
