JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the organization's financial health, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and managing project budgets. This role requires a proactive financial leader who can handle end-to-end accounting processes, donor reporting, and contribute to strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:

  • Oversee daily financial operations and maintain accurate records of income, expenses, and project-related transactions.
  • Review and input into cash flow reports

Budgeting and Grant Management:

  • Develop and monitor project budgets to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Track grant utilization and prepare financial reports for donors and stakeholders.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure timely compliance with statutory requirements (e.g., GST, TDS, FCRA, 80G).
  • Coordinate external audits and ensure timely submission of financial reports.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with project teams to provide financial insights and ensure funds are allocated efficiently.
  • Support leadership with financial planning and risk assessment.
  • Create a healthy culture within the organization for continuous growth and improvement

Process Improvement:

  • Implement best practices in financial management and continuously improve internal processes.
  • Train and mentor staff in accounting practices as and when required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
  • 2-4 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the non-profit or social impact sector
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (Tally Prime, and excel)
  • Experience with donor reporting and grant management is a plus
  • Strong administrative skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks efficiently
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on the field and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of relevant issues in Ek Saath's area of focus would be good to have

Compensation

₹3 to ₹4.5 LPA — plus the experience of creating real environmental impact while working alongside passionate changemakers.
