**Job Summary:**We are seeking a seasoned proposal engineer to create high-quality proposals for electrical controls engineering projects. The primary focus will be on automotive body shop automation.**Key Responsibilities:Generating cost estimates for technical solutions presented – mechanical, electrical and software. Working closely with the applications team to understand their scope of supply and developing optimal costs for their requirements.Collaborating with the strategic procurement team to develop competitive costs for a given application from a broad supply base. Conducting cost-based research analysis in conjunction with all stakeholders.Identifying and mitigating cost risks. Managing the bid process from receipt of request for quotation (RFQ) through to submission.Ensuring costs and proposal documents meet all internal processes and gateways.Developing proposals with key stakeholders. Working as part of a bid team and adapting as required to ensure workload is prioritized.**Requirements:**Proven experience in preparing bids for Electrical Controls Engineering work. Commercial acumen. High level of organization and self-motivation.Excellent understanding of MS Office packages. Ability to read CAD drawings. Strong technical literacy skills.Experience: Proven track record in Electrical Controls Engineering, preferably with some experience in responding to RFQs and creating proposals.Ideal qualifications: Preferably qualified in an engineering subject, such as an apprenticeship or degree in Mechanical Electrical Software Engineering. Qualified through experience will also be considered.
