Job Title: Data Governance Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to assume the role of Data Governance Lead.

This key position will be responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide data governance initiatives, ensuring that data is managed as a strategic asset across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data governance, with experience in managing large-scale data initiatives and implementing effective data governance frameworks.

Key responsibilities include contributing to the development of a comprehensive data governance strategy, establishing clear roles and responsibilities for data owners and stewards, and fostering cross-functional stewardship programs and councils.

  • Data Quality Management: Develop and implement data quality standards, validation rules, and monitoring processes to ensure accurate and reliable data.
  • Collaboration: Partner with data engineering and analytics teams to remediate data issues and improve trust in enterprise data assets.

  • Classification: Classify data assets based on sensitivity, regulatory impact, and business value to ensure appropriate controls are in place.
  • Policy Development: Author and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with privacy regulations.

  • Implementation: Implement data governance technology systems and processes, considering metadata management, data lineage, and monitoring tools.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Information Management, Data Science)

Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience

Skills: Proficient in executing against well-defined procedures and processes; ability to create high-quality deliverables with minimal oversight.

Qualifications: Foundational technical expertise, including business acumen and strategic thinking; ability to multitask effectively and deal with change and ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Data Governance, Privacy, Cybersecurity, Risk, Compliance, or IT Audit.
