Job Title: Catering ManagerJob Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Catering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our food and beverage department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to achieve individual catering sales goals.

You will monitor the status regularly and adjust your strategies as appropriate to ensure that our customers receive exceptional service and value. Your goal is to achieve catering sales goals by developing and implementing effective sales strategies.

A critical aspect of this role is identifying potential key accounts (banquet and group) and developing strategies to prioritize and penetrate those accounts. You will also make outside sales calls to prospective catering customers and clarify their requirements while suggesting alternative menus and themes as needed.

In addition, you will prepare proposals for clients outlining the details of proposed functions and coordinate the preparation of estimates with other departments if necessary. You will negotiate the sale of catering services and conduct on-site client inspections to showcase our available services and capabilities.

The Catering Manager will also be responsible for monitoring customer satisfaction with catering business and following up with key contacts on a regular basis to assess satisfaction. You will ensure that all materials used adhere to brand standards and communicate client requests to all departments effectively and timely.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum one- three years hotel catering or convention experience
  • Local market knowledge preferred
  • High school diploma required, bachelor's degree preferred
  • Experience managing to brand standards
  • Able to collaborate effectively with other hotel employees and managers to ensure teamwork
  • General knowledge of contract laws
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
