Project Development Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Development Manager to oversee land acquisition activities for wind projects.

This role plays a crucial part in creating a land pool for under-construction wind projects and developing a pipeline for the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support project development activities and collaborate with departments for land acquisition and related tasks for wind projects.
  • Identify suitable developers/aggregators for wind energy projects, focusing on primary states.
  • Ensure adherence to laws and regulations related to land, forest, and other approvals.
  • Assess risks in land acquisition and recommend mitigation plans.
  • Lead legal due diligence and documentation to ensure clear and marketable title of potential land before acquisition.
  • Participate in drafting and finalizing agreements, such as Sale/Lease Deeds.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for seamless land acquisition.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination to meet project timelines and objectives.
  • Handle interactions with local agencies and stakeholders for smooth acquisition and usage of lands until commissioning.
  • Manage administrative tasks related to land acquisition across pan-India locations.
  • Develop project plans and schedules, coordinating with stakeholders for successful project implementation.
  • Obtain necessary approvals, such as AAI NOC and MoD NOC.

Ideal Candidate

  • Significant experience in land acquisition involving Revenue/Private/Forest Land.
  • Minimum 12 Years of hands-on experience in Land procurement/acquisition for Wind and/or solar projects.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong understanding of government policies, permits, and regulatory requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to forests and land.
  • Familiarity with land acquisition processes, including procurement, leasing, easement, etc.
  • Ability to conduct preliminary due diligence checks on lands and assess land risks.
  • Proficiency in identifying suitable developers/aggregators for renewable energy projects.
  • Proven ability to secure lands within targeted timelines.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
