Job Overview
Sous Chef is a senior culinary role that requires a high level of expertise and leadership. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and safety.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead by example and maintain a positive attitude among all kitchen staff.
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
- Ensure all food safety and health regulations are met.
- Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of the restaurant and its guests.
- Monitor kitchen inventory and maintain efficient ordering and storage practices.
- Train and develop kitchen staff to achieve their full potential.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working condition.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 5 years of culinary experience, preferably in a senior role.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- A strong knowledge of food safety and health regulations.
- The ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
Accreditation
A recognised culinary qualification is preferred but not essential.
