Strategic Business Development Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Business Development Manager to lead our insurance distribution business specializing in general insurance for large clients. This role demands a results-driven professional with exceptional negotiation, analytical, and relationship management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development
• Identify and target large corporate clients, SMEs, and other potential customers requiring comprehensive general insurance solutions.
• Develop and execute strategies to achieve sales targets and expand the client base.
• Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and emerging customer needs.
Client Engagement and Risk Analysis
• Engage with clients to understand their risk profiles, business operations, and insurance requirements.
• Conduct detailed risk assessments and recommend tailored insurance solutions.
• Present compelling proposals that highlight value and mitigate risks for clients.
Product Expertise and Advisory
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of general insurance products, policies, and endorsements.
• Advise clients on appropriate coverage options, exclusions, and add-ons based on their unique needs.
• Stay updated on new products and trends in the insurance market.
Negotiation and Liaison with Insurers
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with insurers to ensure access to the best quotes and terms.
• Negotiate with insurers to secure optimal pricing and coverage for clients.
• Coordinate with underwriting teams to resolve queries and finalize deals efficiently.
Deal Closure
• Prepare and deliver persuasive sales presentations to decision-makers.
• Address client objections and provide solutions to ensure smooth deal closure.
• Ensure timely completion of documentation and policy issuance.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
• Collaborate with internal teams, including operations and claims, to provide seamless service to clients.
• Train and mentor junior sales team members, sharing expertise in risk analysis and deal negotiation.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance sales culture.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field. MBA is preferred.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales within the general insurance sector, particularly serving large clients.
• Demonstrated expertise in risk analysis and structuring insurance solutions.
Technical Skills:
• Deep knowledge of general insurance products, policies, and industry trends.
• Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies.
• Proficiency in CRM tools and sales analytics software.
Soft Skills:
• Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to analyze complex client needs.
• High level of initiative, resilience, and goal orientation.
This role offers a competitive salary of up to ₹25,00,000 per annum.
