Senior Portfolio Strategist Job Description

Job Purpose:

Develop and implement comprehensive credit underwriting strategies for a portfolio of personal loans through digital channels. Ensure seamless integration with data-driven insights to drive business growth.

  • Craft policies and guidelines that govern credit underwriting, risk assessment, and monitoring processes.
  • Promote collaboration between cross-functional teams to analyze underwriting models, validate performance, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure portfolio profitability and risk thresholds.
  • Leverage automation to optimize credit policy execution, minimizing manual intervention in assessing creditworthiness.
Performance Monitoring:
  • Analyze portfolio trends, recommend policy adjustments to stakeholders, and conduct periodic credit reviews to identify high-risk segments.
  • Develop targeted risk mitigation strategies to address identified vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain accurate delinquency records, ensuring compliance with company benchmarks.
  • Evaluate technological solutions to enhance existing processes and improve overall portfolio management functions.
New Partner Integrations:
  • Understand product offerings from new channel partners, target segments, and required customer information.
  • Create tailored policies based on partner products, available data, and prevailing models.
  • Facilitate data room exercises for new customer segments.
  • Formulate policies considering expected loss rates.
  • Oversee policy implementation, UAT, and production testing, resolving any bottlenecks.
Relationship Management:

Build and maintain relationships with partners, credit reporting agencies, and support all credit operations.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Postgraduate degree in Finance, Statistics, or Management from reputable institutions.
  • Desirable: BTech with MBA or equivalent.
Work Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years of experience, 3-4 years in risk management and policy creation.
  • Familiarity with risk performance metrics.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on experience working with large datasets using data processing and statistical tools.
