Marketplace Strategy Executive

This is a key leadership position where you will design and execute the marketplace strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Marketplace Design & Strategy:
    • Define and execute the end-to-end marketplace model: demand generation, supply chain management, pricing, and liquidity balance.
    • Build frameworks for incentives, trust, and service level agreement (SLA) enforcement that work for rural areas.
    • Expand into new regions with scalable playbooks.
  • Supply Chain Management:
    • Drive onboarding of suppliers: build repeatable sourcing and training models.
    • Own supplier acquisition and conversion funnels.
    • Monitor key metrics: fulfillment percentage, churn, cancellations, idle time, and per-unit cost.
  • Product Development:
    • Work with product teams to build dispatch systems, job cards, SLA trackers, and payment workflows.
    • Translate on-ground pain points into digital features—from routing to performance scoring.
    • Create interfaces in vernacular languages.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
    • Set clear SLAs for arrival, completion, and task quality; design systems to enforce them.
    • Build rating/review systems to create trust between suppliers and workers.
    • Ensure compliance in safety, payments, and labour standards.
  • Leadership & Growth:
    • Hire and manage a team across category management, operations, and supply growth.
    • Build training and certification programs for supervisors and field coordinators.
    • Establish governance for rapid scale-up.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in gig economy or marketplace companies.
  • Prior exposure to agriculture, rural markets, or blue-collar ecosystems.
  • Proven track record of scaling supply-demand platforms with strict SLAs.
  • Deep understanding of pricing models, incentives, and trust systems in marketplaces.
  • Experience with tech-enabled operations, dispatch, and workforce management.
  • Equal comfort in strategy rooms and field ops—can design playbooks and fix on ground fires.
