Retail Product Manager Job Description

The Retail Product Manager will be responsible for overseeing the production process to ensure smooth coordination of garment production, quality control, and delivery. This role involves enhancing processes, monitoring performance, and coordinating with teams to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Sourcing: Source and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and accessories. Collaborate with Production Managers to develop samples, including fabric selection, construction, fit, and quality. Review and approve samples to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards.
  • Production Planning: Develop yearly and monthly production plans with timelines based on order requirements, capacity, and lead times. Allocate resources, including materials and labor, to ensure timely production and meet delivery deadlines.
  • Vendor Management: Identify and select reliable suppliers and manufacturers. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of materials.
  • Cost Control: Prepare cost estimates for products, including materials, labor, and overhead. Manage budgets and track expenses to ensure production costs stay within budget. Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish quality standards and guidelines for production. Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of production. Work with the production team to implement corrective actions.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods. Ensure timely replenishment of materials to avoid production delays. Optimize stock levels to minimize excess inventory and reduce costs.
  • Production Coordination: Coordinate with various production departments to ensure smooth communication and workflow between teams.
