Petroleum Expansion Strategist

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Petroleum Expansion Strategist to spearhead our business development initiatives for the petrochemicals vertical. This role focuses on leading expansion efforts in oil rigs and exploration assets.

  • Foster strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the global petrochemical and oil exploration sector.
  • Evaluate and develop business growth opportunities, particularly in underperforming oil rigs worldwide.

The ideal candidate will possess 15+ years of experience in business development, M&A, or strategy within the petrochemicals/oil & gas sector.

Essential skills include:

  • A proven track record of successful deal-making, especially with international assets or companies.
  • Deep understanding of upstream oil & gas operations, especially rig operations.
  • Strong global network in the petrochemical space, particularly in coastal countries with active oil rigs.
  • Excellent negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.

Representation at industry conferences is also expected.

Requirements

The selected candidate must demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in business development, M&A, or strategy.
  • A proven track record of successful deal-making.
  • Strong global network in the petrochemical space.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.

MBA or relevant technical qualification is preferred.

Collaborate closely with the leadership team to align expansion strategies with overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

This role involves:

  • Leading the business development function for the petrochemicals vertical.
  • Evaluating strategic acquisition opportunities.
  • Developing and maintaining a robust pipeline of potential acquisition targets.
  • Representing the company at industry forums and conferences.
