Hotel Events Director

Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Hotel Events Director to join our team at Accor, where you will be responsible for leading the Groups & Events team and driving revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities:- To assist the Director of Sales and Marketing in preparing the yearly catering revenue & expense budget
- To actively lead the Groups & Events team financial and administrative activities to ensure that yearly revenue budgets are surpassed
- To work closely with the Cluster DOSM and Cluster DRM to achieve accuracy in catering revenue forecasting using the latest market information
- To develop and implement upsell strategies to exceed budget targets
- To contribute to the Department's financial and administrative activities to ensure successful achievement of yearly catering revenue budgets
- To monitor the Opera Sales and Catering System to optimize performance
- To review Groups and Events F&B menus and pricing structures in collaboration with key stakeholders
- To identify peak periods and maximize meeting space utilization in coordination with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Room Sales Team
- To set and review goals for the Conference & Events team and individual team members
- To ensure accurate administration reports are submitted on time to the Cluster DOSM
- To lead, train, develop, and support the Groups & Events Team
- To conduct sales calls with the team and arrange appointments for personal sales calls, telemarketing, and site inspections for existing and potential accounts
- To respond promptly to all inquiries and follow up to confirm client receipt of information and address questions
- To ensure seamless group handovers from Rooms Sales for flawless execution
- To keep relevant departments informed of groups and events in the hotel, ensuring timely updates and BEOs are distributed
- To investigate lost business opportunities and share information with departmental superiors
- To stay abreast of market trends and disseminate knowledge to the team for collective action
- To attend international and local trade shows, roadshows, and business trips to nurture strong relationships with clients
- To entertain decision-makers from target accounts in our F&B outlets and participate in promotional activities
- To update customers on the latest hotel developments and inform hotel management of changes in customer profiles
- To seek out new customers, sales opportunities, and develop action plans to secure new business for the hotel
- To collaborate with the Credit Department to track outstanding account balances in a timely manner
- To prepare thoroughly for weekly Sales and Revenue meetings
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in sales, preferably in an international 5-star hotel environment
- Degree/Diploma in Hotel Management or Business Administration
- Strong knowledge of Opera and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with the local culture and previous experience working in the region
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) and Arabic (written and spoken) is an advantage
The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
