Sales and Events Director

The Sales and Events Director will play a key role in driving revenue growth and expanding the hotel's market share.
Key Responsibilities- To assist the Director of Sales and Marketing in preparing the annual catering revenue and expense budget.
- To lead the Groups & Events team financially and administratively, ensuring that yearly revenue budgets are surpassed.
- To work closely with the Cluster DOSM and DRM to ensure accurate catering revenue forecasting using up-to-date market information.
- To develop upsell strategies to help surpass budget targets.
- To contribute to the Department's financial and administrative activities to ensure yearly catering revenue budgets are surpassed.
- To monitor the Opera Sales and Catering System and ensure it is set up for maximum performance.
- To review Groups and Events F&B menus and pricing structures in coordination with the Cluster DOSM, DRM, Director of Food and Beverage, and Executive Chef.
- To identify peak periods and maximize meeting space utilization in coordination with the Director of Sales & Marketing and the Room Sales Team.
- To set and review goals for the Conference & Events team and its individual members.
- To facilitate accurate administration reports, with month-end and other reports submitted on time to the Cluster DOSM.
- To lead, train, develop, and support the Groups & Events Team.
- To conduct sales calls with the team and schedule appointments for personal sales calls, telemarketing, and site inspections for existing and potential accounts.
- To respond to all inquiries within 24 hours and follow up to ensure clients have received information and clarify questions.
- To ensure proper group handovers from Rooms Sales for flawless execution.
- To keep all relevant departments updated on groups and events in the hotel, ensuring resumes and BEOs are sent and group meetings are conducted timely.
- To follow up on lost business and bring information about them to the department superior's attention.
- To stay aware of market trends and share them with the team to implement collective action.
- To attend international and local trade shows, roadshows, and business trips to build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- To entertain decision-makers of accounts in the F&B outlets of the hotel and participate in promotional activities with them.
- To update customers on the latest developments in the hotel and inform hotel management of all changes in customer profiles.
- To seek out and target new customers, new sales opportunities, and initiate action plans to secure new business for the Hotel.
- To assist the Credit Department in following up on outstanding balances of accounts in a timely manner.
- To come prepared for weekly Sales and Revenue meetings.
- To develop and implement new sales strategies, tactics, and action plans for account bases.
- To ensure and update current account information in Opera and hard files.
- To continually monitor Business blocks to ensure accurate forecasting.
- To conduct and/or attend daily meetings to review event contracts, ensuring last-minute changes are communicated accordingly.
- To conduct pre-conference BEO meetings to ensure key departments are aware of relevant details pertaining to groups.
- To ensure the team follows up post-event to address any issues while soliciting return business.
- To attend departmental communication meetings and sales and operations meetings.
- To consistently interact with key clients, focusing on high-profile guests.
- To build and maintain good relationships with all Accor Regional and Global Sales Offices.
- To be aware of all fire, health, safety, emergency, and security procedures in the hotel.
- To keep the Cluster DOSM promptly and fully informed of all problems or concerns, enabling corrective action to be taken on time.
- To adhere to the Department and Hotel's standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- To ensure strict confidentiality of information in the Department and Hotel.
- To carry out duties, projects, and other assignments as required by Cluster DOSM.
