**Job Overview:**
The Associate General Manager is a pivotal role in overseeing the contracting and procurement processes for surface facility development projects.
This position requires strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of contract management principles to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing and implementing effective contracting strategies to minimize risk and optimize operational effectiveness.
- Strategic relationship management with contractors to manage the full lifecycle of awarded contracts and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintaining market intelligence on yards, vendor bases, long-lead items, and other critical components for surface facility development.
- Managing tendering process to procure high-quality materials and services at optimal prices and timelines.
- Drafting complex, legally binding tender documents and contracts related to surface facilities.
- Providing subject matter expertise in surface facility procurement and contracting.
- Examining, evaluating, and negotiating contracts to minimize risk and ensure operational effectiveness.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 12-15 years of professional contract/procurement experience, including tendering, sourcing, contract negotiation, contract management, and monitoring/reporting contract performance.
- Strong knowledge of handling surface facility contracting, market intelligence, and respective legal terms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Able to accurately read, interpret, develop, and negotiate contract terms and conditions.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills with business acumen to make sound management decisions/recommendations.
