About the Role

The Client Onboarding Specialist will be responsible for ensuring a smooth client onboarding process, while also managing regulatory compliances, financials, and product strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to onboard clients efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with banking, statutory, and securities industry requirements.
  • Participate in projects affecting custody processes, such as new or revised business areas.
  • Initiate enhancements to productivity and quality of service in line with developments within the Processing & Services Group.
  • Plan for operational changes to meet securities and custody market developments.
  • Respond promptly to clients' queries (24-hr turnaround / acknowledgement).
  • Work with clients on account structure to ensure seamless registration with SEBI.
  • Liaise with clients on account opening document requirements.
  • Ensure smooth transition of new business.
  • Liaise with other sections within the branch, Head Office, on regulatory or operational issues impacting credit arrangements and overall Bank relationship.
  • Stay up-to-date on market developments and keep clients informed.
  • Participate in execution of the India custody product strategy, including ongoing priorities and annual investment decisions, and alignment with Indian regulatory changes and Group guidelines.
  • Identify areas of improvement in core products.
  • Explore new business opportunities that help shorten the chain of custody, drive efficiency, and reduce risk.
  • Participate in Industry groups across the region to drive market leadership and change.
  • Partner with clients and industry participants to drive and deliver value-added products.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and business partners across functions, including legal, risk, and compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Understanding of key regulations pertaining to SEBI, RBI, IFSCA, Exchanges, Depositories, and Clearing Corporations.
  • DDP function management to ensure timely updates and adherence to regulations.
  • Development, design, and implementation of DDP systems to eliminate manual regulatory reporting and automate processes.
  • Regulatory requirements met on time with high levels of integrity.
  • Service Level Standards agreed with various units and clients are met with high levels of integrity and professionalism.
  • Preparation and dissemination of custody circulars on market developments, regulatory, and securities industry updates.
  • Liaison with IFSCA, SEBI, RBI, Depositories, Exchanges, and Clearing Corporations to stay updated on changes and update operational procedures.
  • Regular market guide updates.
  • Effective management of projects for new Product Rollouts.
  • Support and management of special projects as needed.
  • Control and periodic checking of operational risks and workflow to implement sound processes.
  • Prompt responses to clients' queries (24-hr turnaround / acknowledgement).
  • Staying up-to-date on market developments and keeping clients informed.
