Job Description

As a key member of our organization, the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

The EHS Specialist will conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. They will also perform risk assessments to evaluate workplace hazards and recommend appropriate control measures.

Additionally, the EHS Specialist will collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the organization. They will provide EHS training and education to employees, ensuring they understand safety protocols and procedures.

The EHS Specialist will investigate incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports and implementing corrective and preventive actions. They will also monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics, preparing reports for management and recommending improvements as needed.

To stay current with EHS regulations and best practices, the EHS Specialist will maintain awareness of changes that may impact operations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in EHS management or a related role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards is essential.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are necessary for assessing and mitigating risks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using EHS management software and tools for tracking and reporting purposes is desired.
  • Certification in EHS-related fields, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar, is preferred.
