Job Overview

The role of EHS Lead entails developing and implementing safety standards across various projects.

Main Responsibilities:
  • EHS Strategy & Policy Deployment:
    • Formulate policies, SOPs, and audit protocols in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
    • Drive integration of safety practices into the project lifecycle (design, procurement, construction, handover).
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with local, state, and central regulations.
    • Conduct risk assessments and analyze potential hazards before and during project execution.
    • Maintain all statutory records, licenses, and permits related to EHS.
  • Site Safety Operations:
    • Regularly inspect sites, conduct safety audits, and monitor contractor compliance.
    • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring timely reporting and closure.
  • Training & Awareness:
    • Design and implement EHS training modules for site teams, contractors, and vendors.
    • Conduct fire drills, emergency preparedness sessions, and toolbox talks.
    • Foster a culture of safety awareness among site personnel.
  • Incident & Emergency Management:
    • Analyze root causes of incidents and implement preventive measures.
    • Establish site emergency response teams and protocols.
    • Ensure proper medical preparedness at all sites.
  • Sustainability & Environment:
    • Promote green building practices, waste management, and pollution control in projects.
    • Monitor resource usage with sustainable benchmarks.
    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
    • 100% statutory compliance and zero non-conformities in audits.
    • Reduced incident frequency and severity rates.
    • % of sites covered under regular EHS audits.
    • % of employees, vendors, trained in EHS.
    • Closure rate of safety observations and near-miss reporting.
    Qualifications & Experience:
    • Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering or Environmental Science with Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory).
    • 8–12 years of EHS experience in construction, fit-out, or real estate projects.
    • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
    • Experience in managing multi-site projects and large contractor workforce.
