Merchant Acquiring Risk Analyst

As a Merchant Acquiring Risk Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing transactions being processed at acquired merchants via all channels. This includes evaluating merchant behavior and detecting fraudulent merchants.

  • Review transactions: Ensure seamless processing of transactions across various channels like UPI, POS, and PG.
  • Monitor merchant behavior: Identify and flag suspicious merchant activity to prevent fraud.
  • Document verification: Examine and verify documents received from merchants in case of escalations or observed fraud.
  • Stakeholder communication: Inform stakeholders across the unit about frauds and patterns observed.
  • Rule creation: Inform rule creation for merchant monitoring based on observed patterns.
  • Fraud trend analysis: Stay updated with the latest fraud trends and MOs in the industry to prevent merchant fraud.
  • Data requirements: Follow up with concerned teams for data requirements.
  • MIS preparation: Prepare and submit MIS reports to all concerned stakeholders.
  • Discussion facilitation: Independently drive discussions with stakeholders on new requirements and enhanced surveillance.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years' experience in fraud monitoring and analysis.
  • Knowledge: Good understanding of merchant acquiring, payment aggregator business, and UPI fraud.
  • Skills: Strong handle on MS Excel - filters, pivot, charts, lookup, etc.
  • Coding: Coding in SQL is a plus.
  • Educational background: Educational background in Engineering, Statistics, Econometrics preferable.
