Job Title: Tax Advisory Manager

• Our team ideates on tax structuring options for multinational clients, evaluates India inbound structuring options, and devises practical approaches to resolving tax issues in structuring assignments.
• We provide end-to-end regulatory compliance processes for acquisitions and coordinate the implementation of subsequent mergers and consolidations across India, ensuring seamless integration and adherence to legal and procedural requirements.
• Our tax planning team advises clients on negotiating the terms of transactions and documents based on findings from tax due diligence work, identifies tax planning opportunities, and conducts comprehensive reviews of business operations.
• We support Partners/Principals in tax planning and management of assignments, with guidance from the Partner.
• Our litigation team devises plans and solutions to effectively resolve clients' tax disputes and innovates novel ways to resolve tax disputes of clients.
• We research estimated service costs and man hours required for projects prior to pitching and draft proposals to clients with guidance from Partners.
• Our team ideates building commercial substance in current processes and procedures and constantly innovates and improvises on processes and plans for closing assignments.

• Key Responsibilities:

• Proactively communicate, respond, and share updates and developments of assignments on a regular basis with clients.
• Be the central point of contact and liaise with client stakeholders, Partner/Principal, local stakeholders, and the team.
• Develop and maintain relationships with CFOs and Tax Directors, creating high-quality professional networks while demonstrating professionalism and remaining independent and objective at all times.
• Identify and ideate leads from public and private sources, constantly evaluating feasibility of new opportunities and sharing potential client databases with Partners for review and guidance.
• Support Partners/Principals in preparing pitch proposals for client meetings.
• Identify new business opportunities in existing clients by keeping track of developments at the client end, tax arena, and overall industry trends.
• Build credibility and deliver high-quality solutions while building rapport with Principals/Partners, clients, and key stakeholders to ensure repeat business.

• People Management:

• Provide guidance to the team, proactively enabling them to deliver on assignments.
• Identify and point out challenges so that they can be overcome quickly with solutions and support team members in resolving conflicts.
• Connect with the team regularly to ensure assignment closure within agreed TAT, track team performance, and share continuous feedback.
• Assess individual and team performance on assignment closure and share feedback and learnings with the team.
• Create a learning environment and encourage people to leverage each other's strengths to deliver high-quality, consistent performance.

• Client Delivery:

• Review available information and assess data/documents required from clients, researching and scrutinizing all aspects of the assignment with the team to ideate and provide optimal solutions.
• Support Partners/Principals by drafting memos/opinions and reports.
• Build client relationships and develop a strong understanding of client requirements and businesses.
• Review available information and necessary data/documents required from clients.
• Scrutinize Notice/Orders and share inputs with Principals/Partners for further steps.
• Research and scrutinize all aspects of the assignment with the team to ideate and provide optimal solutions.
• Draft Appeals for review by Partners/Principals and attend hearings, proactively updating clients on assignment development.
• COMPLIANCES: Review documents/forms/returns internally to maintain accuracy, periodically coordinating with clients for necessary documents, and recording all documents related to assignments secured to ensure smooth closure.
• Demonstrate professionalism while working within legal and regulatory guidelines, remaining independent and objective at all times.

• Client Support:

• Offer necessary data and information to assist clients as needed.
• Capture key outcomes of client meetings accurately and share comprehensive summaries with clients/principals.

• Ideation/Innovation:

• Devising litigation plans and solutions to effectively resolve clients' tax disputes.

• Internal Processes:

• Review engagement letters with precision.
• Monitor the entire invoicing process, including diligent follow-ups for outstanding payments and monitoring payment statuses.
• Establish and uphold data controls for research papers and perform regular hygiene checks to ensure accuracy.
• Assist Principals in updating MIS on a regular basis.
• Prepare service summaries.
• Review important client communications.
• Ensure all facts and research are recorded securely.
• Identify project overruns and initiate actions to recover from the same.
• Maintain a blend of self and team contributions.
