Job Title: Senior Sales and Business Development Leader for Infrastructure Solutions

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned sales and business development leader to drive our international sales strategy for infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have 15-20 years of experience in sales/business development, with a proven track record of achieving revenue targets and building long-term partnerships.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and Execute International Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive international sales strategy to achieve set revenue targets and sales margins.
  2. Lead and Manage a Team: Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing guidance and strategic direction to ensure seamless execution of sales objectives.
  3. Create New Leads and Opportunities: Create new leads and opportunities at prospects and existing customers, leveraging market trends and technical sales expertise.
  4. Front-end Assessment of Business Opportunities: Lead front-end assessment of business opportunities focused on selling lighting, transportation, and utility poles, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  5. Develop Sales Pipeline: Develop and turn the sales pipeline into business for Valmont Industries, Inc.
  6. RFP Analysis and Proposal Development: Conduct RFP analysis, develop proposal strategies, and negotiate contracts to secure new business opportunities.
  7. Account Strategy: Develop account strategy to achieve sales goals within the overall sales/BDM team, collaborating cross-functionally with colleagues to drive contract negotiation processes.
  8. Collaborative Sales Approach: Employ a collaborative sales approach with customers to determine best solutions, owning the overall customer relationship between Valmont and assigned customers.
  9. Deal Leadership: Accountable for deal leadership, driving the contract negotiation process to successfully close sales transactions.
  10. Maintain Customer Relationships: Maximize customer relationships to ensure future sales, optimize new business opportunities, and actively pursue recapture opportunities for lost accounts.
  11. Communicate Effectively: Maintain regular, proactive communications with customers and Valmont management via face-to-face meetings, telephone, and email.
  12. Track and Resolve Complex Issues: Review and track issues from customers that are complex in nature, providing contract expertise and assisting with answering contractual questions.
  13. Stay Up-to-date on Market Trends: Understand broader market trends, proactively driving solutions to mitigate risks and support customer needs.
  14. Participate in Marketing Activities: Strong participation in marketing activities and product marketing development.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Sales, or Marketing; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 15-20 years of experience in sales/business development.
  • Knowledge: Middle East and Africa market, market potentials, technical sales, commercial customer communications, contract negotiation.
  • Skills: Negotiations, analytical skills.
  • Abilities: Ability to perform under high pressure and dynamic work environment managing multiple deliverables.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
