About this pivotal role

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for driving innovation and technical excellence at the core of Linux server systems.

This is a fast-paced, problem-solving, highly technical role that operates at the intersection of open source ecosystems and enterprise technologies.

The successful candidate will lead and inspire a team of engineers to deliver exceptional results, drive strategy and execution, and foster a collaborative engineering culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow a distributed team of software engineers
  • Demonstrate sound engineering principles through active and hands-on leadership
  • Be responsible for planning, estimation, and execution
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams to ensure alignment on product architecture and roadmaps
  • Drive the advancement and adoption of the latest software development practices
  • Engage with other teams to ensure seamless integration and collaboration

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working with Linux distributions and packaging technologies (e.g. deb, rpm)
  • Proven track record of managing or leading teams of software engineers
  • High-quality software engineering knowledge in one or more areas: Linux system architecture, boot process, toolchains, ARM, and/or RISC-V
  • Engagement with open source communities and processes
