Business Development Manager Job Description

About the Role
We are seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to join our team. This role is ideal for a proactive and results-oriented professional with a strong background in the freight forwarding industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • New Business Development: Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities by targeting prospective clients and generating new leads.
  • Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with a diverse customer base, acting as a trusted advisor for all their logistics requirements.
  • Strategic Sales: Understand customer supply chain needs and develop tailored proposals and solutions that meet their specific requirements.
  • Service Offerings: Effectively solicit and sell our comprehensive suite of services, which includes Ocean Import/Export, Air Import/Export, Distribution & Warehousing, Cargo Insurance, and Customs Brokerage.
  • Performance & Goal Attainment: Meet and exceed all monthly sales targets and goals set by management.
  • Internal & Global Collaboration: Maintain consistent and clear communication with our Operations/Customer Service Departments and our network of overseas offices to ensure a smooth and high-quality customer experience.

Required Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Experience: A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience within the logistics, freight forwarding, or a related industry.
  • Education: A Bachelor's or MBA degree is required.
  • Functional Experience: Demonstrable experience in Exports is essential. Prior experience in Customer Service and Operations is a significant advantage.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in English, Hindi, and a relevant regional language.
