Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our team. As an OIPA Administrator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance of OIPA Application and Database Servers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tuning: You will be responsible for database tuning, including query and index recommendations for improved performance and reduced I/O consumption. Additionally, you will work on application server tuning, involving clustering, CPU, memory, and thread pool recommendations.
  • Design: You will design OIPA production and lower infrastructure environments, producing system design specification documents that cater to business needs.
  • Security: You will design and review security requirements based on business user needs.
  • Support: You will provide support for complex deployments and migrations, assessing short-term and long-term design implications impacting overall OIPA and PAS ecosystem operations.
  • Standardization: You will identify, recommend, and implement standardization and consolidation opportunities as the system is implemented across the organization.
  • Collaboration: You will work closely with internal OIPA Configuration teams and Oracle Development team to manage OIPA SRs.
  • Project Management: You will manage multiple development designs and projects to meet project and customer timelines.
  • Training: You will train and mentor other team members.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in Oracle DB Support/Administration.
  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, Redhat JBoss, Tomcat, and Coherence.
  • OIPA Components Deployment with WebLogic is an asset.
  • 5+ years of experience in Oracle Linux.
  • Oracle System Administration Tools - OEM, Admin Server, Data Guard.
  • CRON jobs creation and scheduling.
  • System Alerts creation and modification using scripting tools - Python.
  • Oracle Exalogic and Exadata experience is an asset.
  • OIPA Database and Application upgrade experience is an asset.
  • Data migration, management, partitioning experience.
  • Data simulation/replication experience (Policy Copy or equivalent tool).
  • OIPA Release Management experience is an asset.
  • OIPA Components User Management with security group entitlements and SSO enablement experience is an asset.
  • DI - Queue configuration and setup - troubleshooting of issues with JMS messaging with WebLogic or WebSphere.
  • Database back up tools - Rubrik.
  • Deployment experience with Docker images / Kubernetes for WebLogic and TomEE profiles.
  • Experience with Cycle and DI monitoring / troubleshooting to identify RCA.
  • OIPA v10 or v11 experience is an asset.
  • OIPA System Design and Configuration using OIPA v10 or v11 is an asset.
  • OIPA implementation experience for multiple clients is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Oracle SOA, MuleSoft, and BPM is an asset.
  • Knowledge of AWS and Oracle OCI cloud computing is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of insurance life and health products for individual, group, and worksite markets is an asset.
