Category Buyer Role Summary:
This role involves strategic sourcing, vendor management and the identification of products to drive profitable growth across various categories.
The ideal candidate will have a strong sales background with experience in FMCG or general merchandising product base industry. They should be able to manage working relationships with vendors, analyze consumption patterns and negotiate best rates.
Responsibilities include identifying key market trends, analyzing consumer behavior and developing strategies to meet business objectives.
- Strategic Sourcing: Identify new vendors and negotiate best rates for products.
- Vendor Management: Manage working relationships with existing vendors.
- Market Analysis: Analyze consumption patterns across various geographies.
- Inventory Control: Ensure timely inventory levels and control costs.
- Team Management: Lead cross-functional teams to achieve business goals.
- Data Analysis: Use data analysis to inform business decisions and drive sales growth.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Graduate/Post Graduate/MBA with minimum 10 Years experience in FMCG (Sales GT background) or General Merchandising Product base industry (sales background).
- Excellent communication, negotiation, planning, delegation, coordination, follow-up and team handling skills.
- Good interpersonal skills to maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Excel is a must.
