Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for sourcing, purchasing and managing inventory of key raw materials such as Hot Rolled Coils, hot rolled plates and coated steel. These materials are essential for manufacturing solar mounting structures, transmission towers and wind towers.

This role ensures an uninterrupted supply of quality materials at competitive prices. It also optimises procurement strategies and manages supplier relationships to support production schedules.

  1. Develop and execute procurement strategies for raw materials based on production demands and market conditions.
  2. Identify, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and maintain a robust supply chain.
  3. Issue and manage purchase orders, track deliveries and resolve any procurement-related issues to ensure timely availability of materials.
  4. Monitor market trends and pricing fluctuations for steel products and adjust purchasing plans accordingly.
  5. Closely collaborate with production, quality control, finance and plant planning teams to align procurement with manufacturing needs and quality standards.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials management, business administration or related field.
  • Proven experience in raw material procurement in steel or manufacturing industries, preferably related to construction or heavy engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of HRC, coated steel, hot rolled plates and supply chain dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to analyse market trends and make data-driven procurement decisions.
  • Proficient in procurement SAP Hana applications.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
