Hotel Night Auditor Role Overview:
The Hotel Night Auditor is a key member of the hotel team, responsible for managing overnight front desk and accounting tasks. They serve as the primary point of contact for late-night guests, handling check-ins, check-outs, and guest inquiries.
One of their core responsibilities is balancing and reconciling financial transactions, including room charges, payments, and taxes, and preparing daily financial reports for management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner overnight.
- Handle reservations and arrange for amenities like wake-up calls, taxis, and shuttle services.
- Assist guests, VIPS, and VIPs with requests in a branded, friendly, proactive, and efficient manner.
- Post room charges and taxes to guest accounts and process invoices.
- Balance cash drawers, process credit card transactions, and verify receipts.
- Track key financial metrics such as room occupancy rates and revenues.
- Prepare end-of-day reports and summary cash balances for hotel management.
- Verify the completion of end-of-day tasks by previous shifts.
- Communicate with other departments like housekeeping and maintenance to ensure service delivery.
- Oversee the hotel safe and ensure the security of guest valuables.
- Audit and reconcile the hotel's daily financial accounts, including revenue, charges, and payments.
- Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Provide pre-arrival support for guests arriving on packages.
- Be familiar with all essential aspects of hotel operations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 3+ years of front desk experience at managerial level.
- Basic math and accounting skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, PMS, and IDS software.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management or related field.
