Merchant Acquiring Risk Specialist

Job Summary:

As a Merchant Acquiring Risk Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing transactions processed via UPI, POS, and Payment Gateways for risk indicators. This role involves monitoring merchant behavior to detect potential fraudsters and verifying documents in case of escalations or observed fraud.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review transactions for risk indicators and monitor merchant behavior to detect potential fraudsters.
  • Verify documents in case of escalations or observed fraud.
  • Inform stakeholders about frauds and patterns.
  • Create rules for merchant monitoring based on observed patterns.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and methods to prevent merchant fraud.
  • Collaborate with teams for data requirements.
  • Prepare and submit MIS reports to stakeholders.
  • Lead discussions with stakeholders on new requirements and enhanced surveillance.

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years' experience in fraud monitoring and analysis.
  • Good understanding of merchant acquiring, payment aggregator business, and UPI fraud.
  • Strong Excel skills - filters, pivot tables, charts, and lookup functions.
  • Coding in SQL is an asset.
  • Educational background in Engineering, Statistics, or Econometrics is preferred.
