Senior Legal Strategist

About the Role

This Senior Manager position is responsible for providing strategic legal guidance to senior stakeholders on optimizing debt management processes.

The role ensures that all processes are ethical, compliant, and scalable.

Key responsibilities include overseeing and resolving debt-related disputes and litigation, coordinating with external counsel when needed, and conducting in-depth legal research to support litigation strategies and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Advise senior stakeholders on legal strategies for optimizing debt management processes.
  • Oversee and resolve debt-related disputes and litigation.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research to support litigation and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Work with internal business, compliance, and legal teams to create practical solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external legal partners and regulatory bodies.

Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in litigation processes, civil procedure, and relevant laws and regulations in India, with prior experience in debt management in banks, NBFCs, or asset reconstruction companies highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and execute effective legal strategies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Good industry relationships with peers handling debt recovery in banks, NBFCs, or asset reconstruction companies desirable.
