Procurement Specialist

The primary goal of this role is to optimize the procurement of fresh produce in various collection centers and national sources, ensuring timely supply to regional warehouses. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring crop status through field visits to ensure availability and quality.
  • Forecasting demand and allocating sourcing plans to minimize logistics costs.
  • Closely coordinating with product heads and strategic location managers for seamless F&V flow.
  • Developing robust MIS systems for efficient inventory management.
  • Consolidating inventory requirements with merchandising teams and creating purchase orders.
  • Tracking orders, managing delivery cycles, and handling inventory returns and recalls.
  • Ensuring a smooth supply chain from sourcing locations to FreshFood DCs.
  • Reviewing spend analysis reports and reducing wastage by optimizing truck loads.
  • Maintaining fill rates and forecasting processes in association with states.
  • Minimizing customer complaints by sourcing high-quality produce.
  • Verifying declared purchase prices and conducting surprise visits to mandis for wholesale price checks.
