Procurement Strategist Role Overview

As a key team member, the Procurement Strategist will play a pivotal role in driving accountability and delivering on critical performance KPIs.

  • Manage daily activities and train direct reports to ensure seamless execution.
  • Lead the organization to become a benchmark in client satisfaction for sourcing and supplier development.
  • Operationalize an entrepreneurial mindset and drive speed in the region, leveraging its fastest-growing sites.
  • Build a highly committed and performing team that delivers premium services.
  • Participate in strategic sourcing projects globally and collaborate with business and operational leaders.
  • Ensure timely procurement of materials, equipment, and services according to project requirements.
  • Purchasing activities, including floating RFQs, negotiations, defining payment terms, and meeting customer needs.
  • Manage site supply bases, driving improvements in cost, quality, and Supplier OTP.
  • Collaborate with teams to achieve goals and objectives, focusing on Direct Material Cost Savings & Margin enhancement.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, safety, and quality standards in procurement operations.
Position Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
  • Experience: Minimum 8-10 years in strategic purchasing and/or procurement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership: Proven track-record in building high-performing teams while embodying humility, curiosity, and service leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Highly motivated and driven, with experience in driving improvement in entire teams.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Casting, forging, bought-out material, and cost estimation.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of rate negotiations and contract finalization with suppliers.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting, cash flow management, and cost optimization.
