Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced FMCGBuying Manager to lead our team in the assigned region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a category of approximately 20-30 stores, overseeing buying and movement of goods from vendors to DC and DC to stores.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 8-10 members in buying National & Regional FMCG brands, conduct classroom training and On-The-Job training for team members, groom and develop reporting team members.
  • Coordinate and address challenges in buying and movement of goods from vendors to DC and DC to stores to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Lead regular meetings with key vendor partners for negotiations, forecasting, and category development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Store Operations, Supply Chain, core Purchase, and Central purchase teams to maximize offtakes and ensure best promotions in stores.
  • Discuss and close Monthly and Quarterly plans with FMCG vendors including demand planning, Promotions, and smooth supplies to stores.
  • Provide on-the-job and in-classroom trainings to Purchase officers and Asst Purchase managers.
  • Maintain competitive pricing in the market and be willing to travel across locations within the assigned region and PAN India.

Requirements:

  • A Graduate/Post Graduate/MBA with minimum 10 years of experience in FMCG Sales.
  • Experience in General Trade is preferred. Previous experience in similar roles is essential.
  • Knowledge of local language/location of posting is required. Willingness to travel is necessary.
  • Good communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are mandatory.
  • Strong team management and training skills are required as you will manage a large team and be responsible for training and grooming team members.
