Mechanical Design Engineering Manager

Job Description:

This role oversees the mechanical design engineering aspect of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The job involves defining project scopes, schedules, and resources required for mechanical design activities, ensuring alignment with overall project objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. They should possess strong project management skills, with experience overseeing the execution of large-scale engineering projects.

The Mechanical Design Engineering Manager will be responsible for conducting performance evaluations, identifying development needs, and creating opportunities for professional growth within the team. They will also oversee the allocation of resources and manage project workloads for mechanical design engineers.

In addition to technical expertise, the candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. They should also be proficient in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, or similar tools.

The successful candidate will contribute to the growth and success of our organization by leading and mentoring a team of mechanical engineers and designers, and driving innovation and excellence in mechanical design engineering.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is preferred.
