Job Title: Category FMCG Manager

Category Overview:

  • Manage the FMCG Category across a region, comprising approximately 20-30 stores.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of 8-10 members for buying National & Regional FMCG Brands, conduct training sessions, and groom team members.
  2. Coordinate challenges in buying and movement of goods from vendor to DC and DC to stores, ensuring smooth business operations.
  3. Meet key vendors regularly for negotiations, forecasting, and category development initiatives.
  4. Collaborate with various teams, including Store Operations, Supply Chain, core Purchase, and Central Purchase, to maximize off-takes and ensure best promotions in stores.
  5. Discuss and close monthly and quarterly plans with FMCG vendors, including demand planning, promotions, and smooth supplies to stores.
  6. Responsible for training and grooming Purchase officers and Assistant Purchase managers.
  7. Ensure availability of products in DCs and stores day-in-day-out, maintain competitive pricing, and be willing to travel within the region assigned and PAN India.

Requisites:

  • Must be a Graduate/Post Graduate/MBA with minimum 10 years of experience in FMCG Sales.
  • Experience in General Trade is preferred. Must be experienced in managing a similar role.
  • Knowledge of local language/location of posting is required. Must be willing to travel.
  • Good communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong team management and training skills are necessary, as the incumbent will manage a large team and be responsible for training and grooming team members.
