Senior Ocean Freight Leader

The Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary leader to spearhead our ocean freight business in India. This is a critical role that requires strategic thinking, execution skills, and the ability to drive growth.

This is not a maintenance role – it's a build-and-scale mandate where you will shape procurement strategy, pricing, carrier partnerships, and commercial operations from the ground up.

You will have the resources to put your mark on the industry with global backing and direct CEO visibility.

You Will:

  • Manage a large P&L and team across India who will develop and maintain relations with ocean carrier partners
  • Design, build and price our ocean marketplace coverage
  • Lead a diverse team of leaders
  • Execute Global Carrier Strategy and Development on Regional Trade Carrier Strategy
  • Procure competitive market rates, design products and manage yield
  • Respond to tenders and RFQs to secure regional and global customers through your team
  • Manage Market experts in Ocean/Air Freight
  • Support sales and marketing organization with market information, sales leads and joint sales visit
  • Educate teams with trade specific market knowledge and idiosyncrasies
  • Scale ocean freight for the biggest region in Beeontrade
  • Own air growth in India by leading a team of regional Sales and Pricing team to drive business development throughout the region
  • Administer overall pricing strategy for all fixed and spot business
  • Design scalable air freight solutions to support unique verticals and segments
  • Develop US Export procurement strategy by negotiating contracts and monitoring utilization of capacity
  • Administer quality management with IN- US Export carriers driving on-time performance and milestone timeliness
  • Own take rate by managing air freight cost and pricing inputs
  • Be the executive-level POC for all Indian airline relationships
  • Provide commercial support to global accounts, acting as an executive sponsor

What You'll Need:

  • 15+ years of prior ocean freight experience or 15+ years of supply chain experience and a BA/BS Degree
  • Strategic vision and execution
  • Bias to Action, Process, Structure and Data
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • An obsession with client happiness
  • Ability to travel locally, nationally and internationally
  • Courage to challenge the status quo when logic requires it
  • Desire to lead, train, and develop talent
