Instrumentation and Electrical Specialist

About this role: We seek a highly skilled Instrumentation and Electrical Specialist to lead the development, assignment, and management of maintenance strategies for field instrumentation equipment. This role is responsible for supporting asset reliability by developing and assigning an appropriate equipment strategy.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in engineering activities covering key areas of instrumentation technology, including field instruments, control and shutdown valves, analyzers, and control systems. They will also be responsible for reviewing and updating equipment maintenance strategy for instrumentation and collaborating with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of maintenance strategies with operational priorities.

Purpose & Accountabilities:

  • Perform engineering activities covering all key areas of instrumentation technology, including field instruments, control and shutdown valves, analyzer, and control systems.
  • Review and update equipment maintenance strategy for instrumentation (e.g. Transmitters, control valves, flow meters, analyzers)
  • Collaboration with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of maintenance strategies with operational priorities.
  • Understanding of asset criticality analysis and asset strategy management.
  • Understanding of Preventive, Predictive, and Condition monitoring tasks with respect to assets.
  • Standardize instrumentation maintenance procedure and test intervals across similar asset classes.
  • Knowledge of hazardous area classification, international instrumentation standards.
  • Skilled Instrument Maintenance Technicians with an understanding of the preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of field instrumentation, including control valves, on-off valves, and various field instruments.

Must-Have Skills: Instrumentation and Electrical maintenance and inspection, Field instrumentation, preventive and predictive maintenance techniques.

Added Advantage: SAP PM Module, Asset Performance Management

Minimum Experience Required: 5-10 years

Educational Qualification: University Degree in Instrumentation & Control/Electronics & Instrumentation/Electronics/Electrical or related full-time university degree
