Job Overview

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of data engineers. You will work closely with clients and team members to understand their requirements and develop architectures that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities

  3. Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles
  4. Develop and maintain data pipelines, ensuring data is accurately processed and delivered to stakeholders in a timely manner
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and developers, to ensure alignment and effective communication
  6. Identify and implement process improvements, streamlining workflows and increasing efficiency
Requirements

• Experience working with big data tools and technologies, including Apache Spark, Hive, and Hadoop

• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and optimize large-scale data processing jobs

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders

• Ability to lead and motivate a team of data engineers, providing guidance and support as needed

• Experience working with multiple data sources, including relational databases and NoSQL/document databases

• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms, such as Azure or AWS

• Basic understanding of DevOps practices, including version control and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with streaming data pipelines using Apache Spark Structured Streaming or Apache Flink on Kafka & Delta Lake

• Knowledge of NOSQL databases, including Cosmos DB, Restful APIs, and GraphQL

• Experience with Big data ETL processing tools, Data modelling, and Data mapping

• Experience with Hive and Hadoop file formats (Avro / Parquet / ORC)

• Basic knowledge of scripting (shell / bash)
